TOAF in review

In October 2025 I exhibited at The Other Art Fair (AKA ‘TOAF’), in the Truman Brewery, east London.

I arrived ready to set up on the morning of Thursday 9 October, slightly flustered after being let down by the cab I had pre-booked (!) but raring to go. Hanging all my pieces on my allocated stand was no small feat, but I achieved it in good time - partly thanks to the curation plan I had been agonising over for weeks prior, but mainly thanks to my outstanding assistant (and honorary uncle) Gavin.

Gavin helping with the placement of my ‘Across’ series - with additional assistance provided by one of the lovely TOAF team!

With setup complete, I was ready for opening night, and the following 3 days of exhibiting.

Of course, standing up and talking non-stop for several days was tiring, but it was worth every minute. I had so many interesting conversations across the weekend - I loved hearing the ways in which my pieces spoke to the visitors. It was so enriching for me as an artist to see my work through other people’s eyes: to find out what they were drawn to, what various pieces evoked for them, and why. And of course, I met loads of amazing fellow artists and wonderful collectors.

I want to thank all my existing collectors and friends who came to support me, and of course to thank (and welcome) the new collectors who found me at TOAF! I can’t wait to see you all again soon.
